Tickled pink to be announced as a finalist in the 'Connect2mums AusMumpreneur Awards' in the ‘Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year!’ category! I'll be jetting up to Brisbane for the gala event on saturday night - so wish me luck! Many worthy contenders I am up against!

The rise of the Mumpreneur

What is a Mumpreneur? – well it’s a mum who wants to be able to fulfill her potential as an entrepreneur as well and it seems the trend is on the rise with this industry being the fastest growing of all in Australia in 2010!

‘Mumpreneurs’ typically are successful, confident and innovative entrepreneurs who choose to be self-employed in their own business all while caring for their children and families at the same time.  They need to be innovative, professional, have great time management skills and flexibility and while its not for everyone, there are many women finding success in this arena.

The AusMumpreneur Awards celebrate and recognize those achieving success in the industry, in areas such as business, product development, services and innovation in both online and bricks and mortar businesses from around Australia. 

The AusMumpreneur Awards take place at a glamourous Awards dinner at Rydges, Southbank, Brisbane on Saturday 31 July. These awards are the only events of their kind in Australia and will be officially opened by Hon Karen Struthers MP the Minister for Women.
