Denim Trends

Miss Money Penny - Tuesday, April 13, 2010

Devastated today as I had to bin my favourite pair of jeans. I literally wore them to death wearing semi-hip holes in the knees, bottom and, not so hip crotch! Not a good look at school pick up!

So, on the hunt for a new pair worthy of being worn almost every day with the same level of comfort and grooviness. Love Paige Premium Denim, Zimmerman and best value ever, Sportsgirl for denim but recently got annoyed with some straigh legs which were way to wide at the waist and not at all comfortable. Spent a fortune on the wrong pair of True Religions but status high!

Hunting down the latest trends in denim (and being very aware that the Double Denim of my youth is BACK in a BIG Way!)  came across www.todayshottrends.net

Denim Fashion Trends 2010

Spring-summer 2010 fashion
shows were fulfilled under the slogan "militarism and madness " and customized denim fashion exhibited these inclinations, too. The most fashionable jeans of the spring-summer 2010 are torn, skinny, of dirty khaki, gray, blue or black colors.

All of them are combined with long sweaters or tops in army style. The season’s other trends are from the 90’s. They have really a sexy look.

Dyed jeans are still hot, this spring lots of them come in skinny, straight, torn, short and long norms. Custom jeans are other reminders of the 1990s' fashion. They look grunge as if they have been worn for several years. Boyfriend jeans are still popular as well. For instance, such jeans can be found in the latest collections of Ralph Lauren, Jean Paul Gaultier, Versace or Getwear. The latter fashion house demonstrated its variation of boyfriend jeans. They are wide on the thighs and tight on the ankles. Unique brand exhibited boyfriend style grunge jeans fitting women's figure, on the other hand they are very relaxed and extremely tattered, too.

Uncommonly adorned subculture jeans will also be trendy next season. Trussardi exhibits its excessive jeans model 1911 with pockets worn and torn. Just Cavalli denim collection is combined with denim fabric and flower embellishments. Jeans bedecked with rivets, zippers, chains and prints are also denim fashion trends of spring-summer 2010.

Classical jeans are eternal and they are absolutely worn in the new season as well. You can find worn straight-cut classical jeans in the spring/summer denim collections of D&G, William Rast, Getwear and Alexander McQueen.

Dandyish skinny black jean will be one of the hit denim trends of the coming season, in addition to cuts, jeggings and gray jeans. Banana Republic trademark presents denim trench coats and worn denim shirts is built on the combination of linen dresses with cotton cardigans. The using of denim patch pockets is another innovation of spring-summer denim fashion 2010.

Denim shorts are comfortable and practical and they have a great demand during hot summer days. Ultrashort denim shorts of black and red colors will take to the stage in spring-summer 2010 season. It presents torn shorts and shorts with cuts, too. Ballerinas and shoes with high heels are the best shoes to combine them with and the best accessories are absolutely massive pendants and bracelets, belt-bracelets and massive sunglasses and likewise aviator sunglasses.

Jeans with corsage are popular during the season autumn-winter 2009/2010 and they will go on for spring and summer as well. Jeans with corsage are ornamented with buttons and lacing and look excellent specifically in dark colors. This kind of jeans have an advantage as if your waist is slimmer your legs are longer. Their importance isn’t negligible. You had better wear a white blouse, short bolero or a jeans jacket with them. Even more, double denim stays prevailing during the coming season as well. And remember high heels!

The History of the Trench Coat

Miss Money Penny - Wednesday, April 07, 2010

The trench coat is just one of those fashion items that will always remain in fashion. Although you will find that styles change through the seasons, incorporating more modern twists, the basic silhouette of the trench coat is unmistakably iconic.

A trench coat is typically longer than a jacket and although it is a "coat", it doesn't have to be thick and wooly. It can be made from a heavy or lightweight fabric, and is tailored and fitted — like a jacket.

The history of the trench coat is far from fashionable. In the 1850's, Thomas Burberry, the name behind the well-established Burberry fashion label, submitted the trench coat as a raincoat design for the United Kingdom's officers during the war. His design then went on to become an optional uniform item for the British Army.

Since the days of war, trench coats have become fashionable items for winter, and are worn by both men and women alike. Celebrities also love trench coats. Justin Timberlake is a huge fan and has often been seen wearing beautiful trench coats in his music videos and on stage whilst performing. The popular television series, Gossip Girl is also full of 5th Avenue New Yorkers who love their trench.

Trench coats are so great because they can be worn with absolutely everything. A trench coat looks great with jeans and shirt, or with a skirt and boots. Even sexy, heel wearing legs, peeping out from your trench are very alluring. Feel like wearing a sexy, evening gown? The trench is the perfect cover up to keep you warm before the big event and it will always look stylish.

When investing in a trench coat, go for a classic style that can be worn for many seasons to come. Also, invest in a piece that is a solid color as apposed to seasonal shade. For example, black, red, white or brown are great color options as these will go with many different items to help you create many different looks.
